Prom was probably one of the highlights of my High School days. I went to school in the Philippines in an International School and once in an all girls school. I was able to celebrate 2 Proms both Junior and Senior year(I could say more than 2 actually) and I’m about to tell you all about it.
Back when I was 16 years old, I was already working as a model. I pretty much felt very mature already for my age. Looking back now that I’m 26 years old, I would have told the 16-year-old me to probably act more my age, to enjoy every moment and not to worry about what everyone is talking about me. I was always worried about my self-image and self-worth which I’m sure everyone has experienced in their teenage years. So if you’re in high school and reading this, take a step back and stop worrying, don’t feel insecure and sad because you can’t afford everything yet! you should also enjoy the company of your parents while you’re still living with them. Life happens fast after school. It’s important now to be appreciative of whatever you have right now. There’s no way down but only greatness.
Anyway enough lecture. I’m sure you’ve heard this already before and I’m just reminding you! Going back to my story about more than 2 Proms, When I went to an all-girls school, I got invited to other all boys school to attend their Prom. I know, so many dresses to wear! and way back before, there are not many choices for Prom dresses. I had to go to a designer to get it done, I wished there was Laura already for to shop with my girlfriends. We could have a lot of fun together picking up dresses and Laura offers everything for all sizes too, no one gets to feeling bad about their body image because nothing fits them.
I was a big fan of Gossip Girl during my senior year and when I saw the Dress Serena’s Gold Gown by Pamela Dennis Couture on the episode of her Cotillion. I knew from that moment I gotta have that gown and I hurried to one of the designers in the country and had made the exact same one (well pretty much) CLICK HERE to see the gown I’m referring to. I have no regrets with what I wore for my Prom. I loved it so much that my mother actually took it home with her in England. She still kept it until now. But if I were given a chance again to remake my Prom with my Husband as my date, this is my other OPTION. I would have chosen something I could wear again and not just one occasion. So, I chose this midnight blue silk Princess’s gown. Very simple yet so elegant and classy. It’s important to wear proper and nothing too revealing for this occasion. You don’t want to send any wrong idea to your date for something you’re not ready.
I love how flowy it looks, Almost everyone who saw when shooting it complimented me on the dress.
Perfect for dancing too. It’s a corset type so it gives you an amazing shape on the waist and surprisingly comfortable.
Nothing but a simple accessory needed.
Now anyone wanna take me to their Prom? kidding.
Here are my Top Favourite Dresses from LAURA that I’m sure will look good on everyone:
